CAC-SMART has a great experience on development of agricultural products, conducting research projects in areas such as crops, fruit trees in pre and post harvest, vegetables and herbs of medicinal and cosmetic use.

In the area of products development we operate in the following way:

• The implementation of the projects is developed in those places where we have the assurance of the organisms/conditions under study.

• The rigorousness of the data obtained together with the confidentiality supported by the conditions of a contract are fundamental in our work.

An  experience of 35 years as specialists and 18 years with our company and the constant training of our people in the United States in carrying out tests in the phytosanitary field, allows us to widen our scope of services in the implementation of residual trials (Good Laboratory Practice). The objective of this type of testing is the determination of pesticide's residual in different  kinds of crops and fruit trees for the approval of sanitary norms in the U.S. as in the EU. On practical terms, this means the assembly, implementation and delivery of vegetable samples with their corresponding chain of custody under Environmental Protection Agency norms (EPA).
Our contacts allow us, if necessary, to count with consultant's offices specialized in this type of tests together with QA (Quality Assurance)audit, assuring our clients that the  efficacy or residual trials are executed with an skilled control in the rigorous monitoring of the protocol of research and  in the inherent calculations.
In fact the training in QA has already started for one of our professionals in the company Syntech Research Inc., Sanger, California, USA. This means that the service we can provide with QA it available with International and national audits.

• We perform commercial applications in small scale on places where  their use obtain clear results of technical and economical  convenience.
• These applications and results are directed to the final users and to sales forces providing real and reliable sales elements.
• Periodical samples are taken during the time of validity of the application in order to get real and reliable data of the benefits in the use of the product or service.
• They are performed in farms or fruit orchards managed by successful people in the agricultural field.
• Set up of field days where we have executed these commercial applications in small scale.
• Elaboration of marketing and technical literature based on the results achieved in commercial conditions.

Assessment of Performance in Packing

We have decided to set this activity apart even though depending on the protocols, is part of a study of development of products or markets.

• We have access to cold storage chambers where we can stock up and storage fruit until the moments of processing the studies and segregation that will allow us to objectively know the data of commercial production of the different treatments/number of replications.
• We have the necessary contacts to execute this type of determination in packings of high technology.
• Our researchers and assistants know how to move, do the follow up and control large volumes of fruit.
• This capacity allows us to carefully analyze  the quality parameters obtained and their economical impact in the commercial field.
